Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, led a meeting of the ministerial group for industrial development, attended by key ministers from Egypt’s economic team and relevant authorities.

During the session, approval was granted for a new initiative under the private free zone system: Alstom Railways Components Manufacturing S.A.E. The project aims to build an industrial complex in the Borg El Arab logistics and industrial zone.

The project will feature two factories on a 40-feddan site, with one dedicated to producing spare parts for Metro Line 6 and the other focused on cable manufacturing. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in Egypt’s transportation infrastructure, addressing the increasing demand for metro system components.

In addition to the Borg El Arab development, Minister of Transport Kamel Al-Wazir provided updates on efforts to utilize 1,200 feddans of land around the sanitary landfill in 10th of Ramadan City.

The plan involves establishing factories to recycle landfill waste into useful products like interlock tiles, biogas, fertilizers, and other materials.

Al-Wazir also discussed investment requests from companies looking to set up waste recycling stations within the project.

Al-Wazir further reviewed the progress of the Integrated Waste Management Complex project in 10th of Ramadan City, which supports Egypt’s Vision 2030.

The project focuses on modernizing waste treatment infrastructure and includes work on utility connections, internal road construction, a primary wastewater treatment plant, and irrigation networks for green spaces.

Prime Minister Madbouly directed that a detailed plan be developed for the targeted factories within the waste management project, specifying production capacities and prioritizing necessary utility networks for the project’s success.

The meeting also addressed plans for the Iron and Steel Company and the Coke Company in the Tebbin area, following presidential approval to allocate land for environmentally friendly industrial activities.

Additionally, Minister Al-Wazir presented updates on the Automotive Production Incentive Program and the National Program for Automotive Industry Development. The discussions included recommendations to strengthen Egypt’s automotive sector.
